1968 VW Airplane Engine original vintage advertisement. Recounts the story of Bob Ladd of Deer Park, NY who dropped a VW engine in his small airplane. Volkswagen was staunchly against this practice stating: "We don't recommend it. In fact, we're against it. If we had really meant the Volkswagen to fly, we would have made it look more like a bird. And less like a bug."
